jesus has appointed the ‘faithful slave’ to be the only channel for dispensing spiritual food.

i'm curious to see how much manpower a little congregation - a hundred?
- requires to keep it running.
Local foreign language congregation : 50 publishers / 9 elders / 2 MS
Local congregation : 100 publishers / 3 elders / 2 MS

does anyone know the names of the gb members wives?
where could i find them?
just curious!.
I've met Susan Lett and Gloria Herd during my "zealous years" decades ago. This was before their husbands became GB members. Steven Lett was my Circuit Overseer and Samuel Herd was my District Overseer in southern California.

have you ever noticed that know one uses first names at the kh?
it is how are you brother jones?
how are you sister smith?
Whoa! A very significant topic for me ~
I would call the members of the congregation Brother/Sister "First Name" (e.g. Brother Jason, Sister Karen...etc) when I conducted question and answer parts at the meeting. Some of the members of the congregation came up to me and told be that they liked to be called in such a way and that it felt warm and family-like.
Well, one elder in particular (former Bethelite and missionary) couldn't contain himself and would have none of that. He call me in the back and counseled me with the same Watchtower article as Blondie quoted above. He even accused me that I didn't love Christ's brothers because I wouldn't follow their directions.
I had him read Hebrews 13:23 and told him that was my Scriptural basis for using the first name after saying "brother/sister".
He grimaced and sat there silently. He never liked me again.
This form of legalism was the start for me to fade and leave the WT.
when it finally clicked,.
and you realized there was no 1914, there was no generation that would see the end of a wicked system, there was no paradise around the corner, .
what went through you mind?.
I'm still trying to get a handle on this. Some days are harder than others.
Normally, people learn to deal with the experience of death from childhood on and to develop on how to accept it as they mature.
However, for this JW born-in, I never had the normal view of my own death because Armageddon was supposed to be here before I reach adulthood. Now I'm pushing 50 and my mortality is rearing its ugly head in front of me.
The way I'm handling it now is by cherishing the life of my young son and teaching him all the good things I know. Somehow of a condolence, I know I will live on through him..........

mr. geoffrey jackson hosts this month's propaganda-fest, and uses a favourite catchphrase of the org - "by extension" - to get out of the dead-end which the scriptwriters had put him in.
he quotes matthew 10:22 - "and you will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my [jesus'] name; but he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.".
mr. jackson knows only too well that probably no j.w.
The new JW catchphrase ~
"Overlapping extension" !!

i am sort of new here, used a different username for a while but things got 'difficult' at home so i've since been lurking.... what i would be really interested to know, if you don't mind sharing, is what it was that triggered your doubts and initial research which led to awakening, was it a bad experience, injustice, changed doctrine?
for me, it was seeing mistreatment of young ones in the congregation, they're under so much pressure and as soon as they go even slightly astray they are shunned, either informally (as bad associations which pushes them further into the 'world') or formally - with elders dying to throw the book at them so they even lose their family.... ...then reading about child abuse issues in the press.... ...which led me to silentlambs.
...then jw facts, this forum and coc, wham!
Legalism!
And with EVERY active JW that I mentioned about this, not a single one denied that it exists in the organization.

i recently came across jwtalk and realized it is a huge place that very "prominent" jw post and talk on.. the wt never contacted them and asked them to take it down because it wasn't "official"?
i thought people were only supposed to go to jw.org for religious matters?.
does anyone have any information on if/why this website is allowed to be up and have so many higher up jw posting on it without the wt contacting or writing in publications on how we shouldn't be on websites such as that?.
Yeah, the same type of "higher ups" that post here
Alligator Wisdom (aka Brother NOT Exerting Vigorously)
anyone know anything about it?
apparently it's going to be broadcast live nationally to all the congregations this saturday
There will also be a "special meeting" in Japan this Saturday (April 25th) with a visiting Governing Body member. This too will be a national broadcast to all congregations.
